Are you our new Quality Manager?
Westermo is now searching for a business minded and experienced Quality Manager to join our team in Stora Sundby. The purpose of our Quality function is to ensure a culture and practice of excellence throughout the entire value chain of Westermo, in order to increase customer satisfaction. Since our most important success factor is to deliver high tech, robust and reliable products, this is a key role to the company. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality aspect of our manufacturing department. In practice, this means supporting the manufacturing team with processes and competence to decrease warranty and scrap cost, and to improve overall product quality. In your team you will have two quality engineers reporting to you and since we have a rather small quality team you will also be involved in daily operations and be very hands-on in everyday tasks. The role reports to the Vice President of Operations and you will be part of the Operations management team.
What you’ll be working with and responsible for:
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining our company quality standards and drive our quality improvement efforts. By working closely together with the manufacturing and supply chain teams you will ensure robust processes are in place so that products leaving our factory meet our high quality standards. When finding deviations, you will drive the root cause analysis as well as the corrective actions.
Our Quality function is continuously working on improving our already good quality culture in the company. This is done through communication and training in quality awareness and quality standard requirements involving all functions.
Another very important responsibility for our Quality Manager is to work closely with our customers and suppliers to react and take actions on quality issues. You will also drive and actively participate in audits with both customers and suppliers, as well as internal audits.
Westermo holds both ISO9001 and soon also ISO14001 certificates and you will be the owner of the basic platform; our management system. Linked to this you will also perform management system audits to assure that we are following our processes and procedures.
So, who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who would fits in our Westermo company culture and who meets most of the following requirements:
- A degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred) and minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of Quality Management in the manufacturing industry
- Proven leadership skills, since this is a key area for us
- Experience in manufacturing, testing, and failure analysis
- Experience of quality management systems, problem solving methods, and statistical analysis tools
- Good communication skills; communicating professionally in business Swedish and business English, write reports, read standards, hold presentations for external visitors, write business correspondence, and write/draw process maps
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills together with a business mindset and a focus on results
